Steve Ludwin

Songwriter Steve Ludwin has been much in demand since Placebo recorded his song Ashtray Heart, co-written with Brian Molko and Steve's regular writing partner Jordan Page. Ashtray Heart appears on Placebo's hugely successful album Battle For The Sun and has been released as a single around the world. Steve, Brian and Jordan also have a song on the second album from successful German rock band Cinema Bizarre. Steve and Jordan are currently producing new pop act Paradise Point.

Steve Ludwin was born in the USA but has lived in London for twenty years, during which time he has been in bands including Levitation, Pura Vida, Carrie (Island Records) and Kerrang! favourites Little Hell. Ash had a radio hit with their recording of his Little Hell song Warmer Than Fire.

Steve met Slash (formerly of Guns N' Roses) through their mutual love of snakes. Soon after, he was in LA auditioning to be the singer in the band that later became Velvet Revolver. Steve didn't get the gig but he did become friends with the band and wrote several songs with Slash. Shortly afterwards, Little Hell split up and Steve left the life of a band member behind to concentrate on songwriting.

He is an avid gig-goer and played an instrumental role in the discovery and development of bands such as The Crimea and Good Shoes.

Steve is that rare commodity – a writer from a credible rock background who can pen great pop songs.
